Volkswagen Beetle 1500
1967 — one-year-only model
The Beetle may look like a single, unchanging model, but the detail differences between years matter. The 1967 1500 is especially desirable because so many of its features appeared together for one model year only.
It retains the sloping headlamps and long bonnet of the earlier cars while gaining a 12-volt electrical system, the stronger 1,500 cc engine, taller gearing and front disc brakes.
This example remains highly original. The restoration was deliberately sympathetic: the exterior finish was renewed with close attention to the factory seams, cabin and underside rather than turning the car into an over-restored showpiece.
