Yamaha TR1
1981
The donor is a 1981 Yamaha TR1, rebuilt as our interpretation of the Doc Chops machine featured on Café Racer TV.
Rather than copy it line for line, we reworked the proportions around a larger hand-made Mojave-style tank that better suits the scale of the V-twin. The rear frame was pared back until the engine became a stronger visual and structural element.
Internally the engine remains standard, but the twin Hitachi carburettors were replaced by a single SU HIF on a fabricated two-into-one manifold. Wire wheels and adapted Harley-Davidson silencers complete the lean, vintage road-racer stance.
